"People first paid honour to a spot and afterwards gained glory for it. Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her."

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 20

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 20

Progress today paused when a couple of school groups stopped by to learn the basics of timber framing. The kids were an active and engaging bunch that quickly grasped the concepts at hand. We covered everything from peg hole layout to the impact that knots have on the frame. I am grateful for these kids keeping me honest. Their direct and honest questions serve as reminders to continually consider how to explain even the most simple of questions. The simple and humble concepts are worthy of thorough examination and explanation.
