"People first paid honour to a spot and afterwards gained glory for it. Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her."

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 3

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 3

In terms of jointwork, we are just under halfway done with the first truss. All of the main pieces are fitted together, and all that remains are the jambe de force members and bracing. Tomorrow we are poised to tackle 12 of the remaining 16 joints. After work today, I had to take a trip into town for groceries, which winds up making for a rather long day. I am planning on writing a thorough post this weekend to further explain our timber framing process, but for now just know that we are making good progress. Steady as she goes.
