"People first paid honour to a spot and afterwards gained glory for it. Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her."

Louisiana Consult Update

Louisiana Consult Update

Despite the rain that dogged my second onsite visit to Louisiana, the work and various meetings went well. The folks down there are making solid progress. On this project I am only consulting, which means a good number of phone calls and emails, and a few onsite visits here and there. Quite a remarkable sight to see everybody from the bricklayers to the clients willing to learn and take a bold step outside of current conventions. Overall, I think this project will go a long way to proving that these ideas translate well to conventional builders. They just have to be willing to adapt. Again, what a remarkable sight to see everyone involved on this build willing to step outside their comfort zone and help create a lasting structure.

Keep an eye out folks for further updates regarding this project. Truly, it stands as a hopeful sign of healthy change to come. In a cozy corner of Louisiana, a client, an architect, a couple of general contractors, a crew of masons, and a crew of carpenters have come together and creating an act of permeance. What an honor it is to witness such collaboration, coaching and cheering along the way.
