Monastery Timber Frame, Day 21-25

Well, the posting schedule has certainly fallen by the wayside. Coming just shy of two weeks since the last "daily" report. As I write, the bulk of the timber framing is done. We completed the five trusses last Friday. Looking back, sickness dogged us, but the weather favored us and no catastrophic mistakes were made. On the whole a successful build.

A few detail elements remain, which Chapman and his apprentices will finish over the next week. My family and I  traveled back home this last weekend to take care of a few things before I rejoin the HFA gang at the monastery. I'll resume the monastery post series then.

In the "Day 18-19" post I mentioned that my first attempt to illustrate the stages or "layers" that a timber frame truss is constructed left something to be desired. I believe this new batch of sketches provides a better understanding of the layout system we employed.
