"People first paid honour to a spot and afterwards gained glory for it. Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her."

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 15

Monastery Timber Frame, Day 15

Today marks the closing of the third week of the monastery timber frame project. Today also marks the completion of the third truss! For the folks keeping score at home, that averages out to a truss per week. I am quite pleased with both the progress and pace we are achieving. The first truss took seven days as we deliberate over various aspects in the field. The kinks of design, detail, layout, assembly, and execution all take time to properly resolve. Building the second truss in five days, we finalized our approach and rhythm. Now the third truss is completed only after four days of work. We have hit our stride. I am looking forward to tackling the fourth truss on Monday.
